For 100swallows


This time it is life size, with this sort of "look" but in bronze!

Can't wait to see it, Robert. I wonder what kind of patina you'll put on it--wouldn't want all that filigree lost in the black.

mmm, bronze is a problem. A friend had one of his birds in a white patina! Trouble with terra cotta is it will not survive the frosts we have here. Marble is an option, so of course would it be, if painted like the Greeks did! Somehow it would be less sophisticated and more of a cross between a painting and a fairground figure.

I have been thinking about the dreadful arguments of painters vs sculptors on your blog and have some strongly felt answers to add one day!

Lydia Venieri is a major Greek artist, and a descendant of the Greek branch of the Venieri family. Her web site dates from 1995, and showed some of the first Internet-based art.i like the most.
