Snowy Weather Friends

This is in tribute to my e friends in The States who seem to be having some trouble with snowy weather. Now Mountshang finds his portraits snow capped giving them an appearance of Marge Simpson. Marly has to dig herself out like The Mole in "The Wind In The Willows" and Blue Genes has hoofed it to Paris in an attempt of a jollier time. Now have a look at this from Norway. Pictures courtesy of the Official Guide Book; Snowy Gate, Frosty boy and Two Men with a sinister hair do. Gustav Vigeland, Vigeland Sculpture Park, Oslo, well worth a visit.

Have you been to Vigeland's park ? I'd love to go sometime (sometime when it's a bit warmer!)

I could just say no I haven’t but there is a reason.

In my salad days in Artic training from Sandhurst, I had the choice. We had been lined up one side of the ballroom and the Norwegian girls were lined up opposite. We were dressed in blues and the girls were very pretty indeed. Mine invited me for a trip the next day and the choice was skiing or the Vigeland Park. Well you see I didn’t want to admit that I did not know what Vigeland was and she seemed more interested in skiing. She turned up in a limousine the next day, her father a Shipping Magnate, I was 21 and she 17. It all went very well indeed and she did reply to my letter. Her father had sent her to America for finishing school!

I would love to go now too, (Vigeland I mean).

Many thanks for the links, Robert. Unfortunately I will have to wait until I get home to connect to them as computer things aren't working here in "Gay Paris" as they do at home. I'm actually not in Paris at the moment but at my in-laws in the middle of nowhere and have been eating TONS of eggs. My husband's parents are so befuddled by the concept of vegetarianism--thank God I'm not vegan!-- that they can't figure out much else to serve me. I'm sure this will be funny again when I'm home and can feed myself (or grab a quick sandwich at the deli. Isn't it absurd that I'm in France missing the corner deli?!) And all of this must of course be qualified by *if* I ever manage to get home, snow permitting--it is very kind of you to consider our plight and "snowy weather friends" is quite clever. At any rate, no reason to be jealous of me as far as cuisine is concerned and you're probably not missing out on much with my in-laws either--not bad people, just in-laws, "ma belle famille, quoi."
I am very flattered that you appreciate my posts.

Came back to look at that face after going to the dentist!

I like all these--snow makes our sculptures into coneheads, too.
